From Baramulla, Kupwara & Gurez

Kashmiri Almonds (Kagzi & Wild Mamra)

We bring two celebrated varieties of Kashmiri almonds: Paper-Shell Kagzi Badam from Baramulla and Kupwara (so thin you can easily crack it between your fingers), and wild high-mountain Mamra Badam with rich natural oil.

Our Harvesting Standard

Why Deenz Kashmiri Almonds?

Most commercial almonds in India are imported from overseas and heat-processed. In contrast, our Kagzi Badam comes from traditional Kashmiri orchards and is packed in its natural paper-thin shell to preserve every drop of natural oil. Our Mamra Badam is sourced from wild mountain trees near Kupwara and Gurez. It is small, curved, and has one of the highest natural almond oil concentrations found anywhere in the world.

Naturally Occurring Nutrients

Almonds are a traditional morning staple across Indian homes. Soaking 4-5 almonds overnight makes a nutritious start to your morning.

Easy Hand-Crack Kagzi Shell

Kagzi means paper in Kashmiri — the shell breaks with gentle finger pressure, revealing the sweet kernel inside.

High Oil Content Mamra

Wild Kashmiri Mamra almonds have a distinct rich taste and higher natural oil compared to standard farmed varieties.

100% Kashmir Sourced

Cleaned and sorted at our Wanpora unit without mixing any imported or generic nuts.

Pack Selection

Available in 250 g, 400 g, and 1 kg packs across both Kagzi (in-shell) and Mamra (shelled kernel) varieties.

How to Store

Store in an airtight jar away from direct sunlight, dampness, and heat. In warm months, storing in the refrigerator keeps them crisp and fresh for up to 6 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I really crack Kagzi Badam with my hands?

Yes! The shell is thin and crisp. Press two almonds together in your palm or press with your thumb to crack them easily without any nutcracker.

What is the difference between Kagzi and Mamra Badam?

Kagzi Badam comes in a thin paper-shell and is great for daily snacking. Mamra Badam is a rare wild kernel variety with higher natural oil, rich aroma, and limited yearly harvest.

Should I soak them before eating?

You can eat them raw and crisp straight from the pack, or soak 4-6 kernels in water overnight and peel the skin in the morning as per traditional Indian practice.
